…and the two shall become one Weddings & Holy Unions The United Church of Broomfield invites you to look at our church as you plan your wedding or union. Non-members of the church are also welcome. We truly hope that non-members seeking to get married in our church are looking for a religious service and not just a facility. As an Open and Affirming congregation, we do provide services for those of the GLBT community. Below you will find the fees Use of the Sanctuary $200* Personal Fees Minister $200* Coordinator $ 75 Organist/Pianist Wedding $100 Rehearsal $ 50 Nursery Care During wedding (kids age 1-4) $ 35 *This fee does not apply to church members. Meeting with the Minister You will need to meet with the minister at least twice. This will give you and the minister an opportunity to get to know one another, and this will make for a much better wedding ceremony. It will also allow you to discuss issues that will play a central role in your marriage - · common values · hopes and dreams · children · religious background · spiritual convictions All of this will enable you to talk about marriage in general and plan your wedding service in particular. Wedding Coordinator Our Wedding Coordinator will assist you in the arrangements for your wedding. A Wedding Coordinator will help with your rehearsal and will be in attendance at your wedding to assist with procedures and details. Photographers Pictures are important to families as years pass and memories are recalled. Pictures may be taken before and after the ceremony in the Bride’s room, in the halls, in the sanctuary, and outside. During the ceremony pictures may be taken in the sanctuary as long as they are in good taste. Alcohol, Rice, Confetti, etc First and foremost, The United Church of Broomfield is a place of worship. Please do not bring alcoholic beverages onto the premises (church, church grounds, and the parking lot). Please do not scatter rice, confetti, tissue flowers, or other objects either inside or outside the church building. Birdseed, bubbles, or butterflies may be used outside. Please advise your family, wedding party, and guests of this requirement. The United Church of Broomfield is a smoke-free facility. Smoking cannot occur in the building or on church grounds. Some other things you might want to know… 1. There are 12 pews on each side of the sanctuary 2. The Sanctuary seats 150 persons 3. The Bride’s dressing room is located in the Steele Commons Room across from the Sanctuary and is available for use before the ceremony. After dressing, please lock your things in your car. 4. IMPORTANT: The United Church of Broomfield assumes no responsibility for your valuables. Rehearsals If the wedding party consists of no more than four adults, a rehearsal may not be necessary. However, if more than four persons are involved, and especially if children are included, a rehearsal is wise. Rehearsals are forty-five (45) minutes long and all persons involved are urged to be prompt because of other scheduled activities in the building, rehearsals must be on time!
